Matheus Barbosa

I'm Matheus — a full stack developer from Brazil with a unique background blending Physics, Computer Science, and a deep love for building things that matter.

My journey started watching my father code. That curiosity grew into a career of creating web applications, mobile apps, APIs, and now AI-powered solutions for clients worldwide.

What drives my work

The principles and values that guide every line of code I write and every project I deliver.

Clean Code

I write code that reads like well-structured prose. Maintainable, testable, and built to last — because future-you deserves it.

> const quality = "non-negotiable";

Performance First

Every millisecond counts. I optimize for speed at every layer — from database queries to frontend rendering and CDN delivery.

> await optimize({ target: "everything" });

Client Partnership

I don't just build what you ask — I help you discover what you actually need. Transparent communication and shared ownership.

> while (true) { collaborate(); iterate(); }

Analytical Thinking

My Physics background trained me to break complex problems into first principles. I approach architecture the same way.

> const solution = decompose(problem);

Continuous Learning

Technology evolves fast. I stay ahead by constantly experimenting with new frameworks, AI tools, and best practices.

> skills.push(...latestTech);

Security by Design

Security isn't an afterthought. From input validation to authentication flows, I build with protection at every layer.

> if (!secure) throw new Error();

Life Timeline

Key milestones from 1996 to today

1996Born in Pouso Alegre, MG

I was born in Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais, Brazil — a charming city where family, music, and curiosity shaped my earliest years. Those first experiences inspired a lifelong love of learning and technology that still guides my work today.

2006First steps in English

I began studying English at Spectrum Line. This opened doors to international culture and technical resources, laying the groundwork for future studies, global collaboration, and a more connected view of the world.

2012Exchange program in the USA

I spent six months as an exchange student in Cassville, Wisconsin. Immersion in a new environment taught resilience and adaptability, strengthened communication across cultures, and encouraged me to explore new ideas with confidence.

2013High school graduation

I graduated from Anglo PA. Beyond academics, I built strong friendships and discovered a passion for engineering and problem‑solving that would guide my next steps and later shape my approach to building software.

2014Computer Science at UDESC

I started a Computer Science degree at UDESC, exploring algorithms, software design, and systems thinking. This period deepened my technical foundation and my love for designing systems that are robust, clear, and maintainable.

2015Physics at UNIFEI

I moved to Itajubá to study Physics at UNIFEI, combining analytical rigor with practical experimentation. The blend of theory and creation continues to shape how I approach technology and solve complex, real‑world problems.

2017First enterprise systems

I started building enterprise software from scratch — a complete homecare management system with inventory control, patient tracking, medication management, and a mobile app for field staff. Reduced medication loss by 98% and fully digitized manual processes that are still operational today.

2021Occupational safety platform & graduation

After graduating from UNIFEI, I built a comprehensive occupational health and safety platform — e‑Social integration, medical exam management, risk programs, PPE tracking, and compliance dashboards. Used by multiple companies across Brazil. Also shipped an online course platform and e‑commerce for safety training.

2024AI engineering & new ventures

I dove deep into applied AI — building WhatsApp chatbots, automated customer service, and AI-powered sales tools for businesses. Shipped e‑commerce platforms, a real‑time auction app for a football club event, and started building my personal finance app with AI‑driven market analysis and automated trading.

2025Personal Organizer — All‑In‑One

Built my own productivity platform — project management with kanban boards, full Google Calendar sync, notes, file organization, and goal tracking. A personal tool I use daily to manage both work and life, designed exactly how I need it.

2026A.T.L.A.S. — my personal AI assistant

Building A.T.L.A.S. (Adaptive Technical Liaison & Assistant System) — a personal AI that connects all my platforms: calendar, tasks, email, code repos, and communication tools. It powers the chat on this website and automates workflows across everything I do. A project that keeps evolving every day.

Hobbies & Passions

Software is my craft, but life has many more dimensions. Here's what fuels my creativity and keeps me balanced outside of work.

Chess

A lifelong passion — I play daily on chess.com across bullet (1500), blitz (1700), and rapid (1800). Strategy, pattern recognition, and staying calm under pressure translate directly into how I approach software architecture.

Sports

Soccer runs in my Brazilian blood, but I also follow F1 with the same intensity — the engineering precision and split-second decisions resonate with me. American Football completes the trio with its strategic depth.

Books

From technical deep dives and system design to philosophy and sci-fi — reading keeps me curious and sharp. Every great developer is a great learner first.

Building Things

Beyond client work, I love exploring new technologies, building side projects, and pushing the limits of what's possible with code. If it can be automated or improved, I'm on it.

Chess Challenge

Think you can beat me?

I'm building a chess engine calibrated to my real chess.com ratings. Play against my bot in bullet, blitz, or rapid — or challenge the real me online!
